Serious Sam HD for Xbox Live Arcade

Ah…. nostalgia, nostalgia, nostalgia. Oh, how I love thee.

If there’s something I love about this subtle shift in today’s world of gaming, it’s that developers like to loiter in “yesterday’s” world of gaming.

The sleeper shooter hit Serious Sam: The First Encounter is about to get a visual high-definition facelift (a la Duke Nukem Atomic + Plutonium Pack). The game is due to be released sometime this fall, but no official date has been set in stone. As of right now, it looks like this is going to be an Xbox Arcade exclusive, but I’m keeping my fingers crossed for a PC release a few months later. You can watch the debut trailer here.
