I’m sorry about our main page. As you’ve hopefully noticed, our stream hasn’t been updating with each new post. We’re still trying to figure it out, as it isn’t a problem with any of our encoding. Anyhow…
Freeware/Flash Game of the Week #2 goes to one of the most frustrating, but addictive games on the net that you’ve never heard of; QWOP.
The object of QWOP is simply this; run as far as you can without falling over. Sounds pretty simple, right? Perhaps I should mention that it’s also a physics game, but not in the sense of Portal, or Trine, for example.
The runner doesn’t move simply by pressing forward: you control each thigh and calf individually. Yeah, not so simple, huh? Q and W are used to move his thighs, while O and P are used to raise each calf.
The game has no sense of leniency whatsoever. Lift up a calf too far, you fall. Step backwards and you end up in a weird straddle position. It takes a couple of minutes to comprehend, but good luck on making progress. Maybe after a few hours, the game actually becomes a breeze… I’m just messing with you; it doesn’t.
If you want to test your patience with QWOP, then I’ve provided the link below, and on our Freeware/Flash page.
