Sega’s #1 franchise is going back to it’s roots, with a new 2D release for 2010. “Project Needlemouse”, as it’s called, is Sega’s enigmatically titled ace of spades; a new 2D Sonic the Hedgehog title to be released sometime in 2010. The games teaser trailer promises that the game is “built from the ground up”, so could we be looking at something along the lines of, say…. Megaman: Maverick Hunter X, perhaps? For the moment, I guess only time will tell.
