Most Publishers Developing Project Natal Titles

I couldn’t begin to tell you why, but apparently an estimated 70 to 80 percent of publishers are working on Natal games.

There’s not really much else to say about this. I guess everyone wants some of the Wii’s enormous motion-sensing money pile.

Here’s the article that summarizes things. And here’s the full interview.

What do you guys make of this? Complete nonsense? Sure we’re not the only ones that think that all this “standing up to play video games” stuff is foolish. Maybe we are, though? Cast your vote in the comments!

Hahaha, I love how the companies are late on jumping on this train. Nintendo already made their money, so they’re likely to head off and try something else new that’s going to make the others go “Got damn it.”

I’m glad they’re talking about a prolonged console generation, at least for price points. I personally really enjoy sitting down and being immersed in smart, thorough storytelling and action sequences that race your heart without the need for flailing. Now i’m not against flailing. I mean sh*t i play Rock Band and Guitar Hero. Star power isn’t good enough without a F*cking power slide. What i’m trying to get at here is that with all of this new flash and bang with Natal i’m afraid the fabled 70-80% of developers are going to be going for more seizures of color than stimulus of the mind and enjoyment of the soul.

Brad is correct. Due to the relatively new technology being put to use in Natal, many publishers are going to exploit and overuse it, adding numerous gimmicks to the game.

Its going to be some long time before the technology is fit and used properly in tandem with a controller. There is a safe middleground, but I doubt that it has been explored by either Wii or any other system.

  4. How come i’m the only one who played wii sitting down….?
I dont believe any company other then nintendo can actually pull this off. Unless its interactive to the point where its like Gamer, any hardcore gamer will stick to a controller.
