Fellow 2D fighter fans, it seems like things just keep getting better for us! Mad Catz, makers of a handful of excellent pads for current consoles, has some excellent news.
Not only did Mad Catz have a wildly successful business quarter end recently, but the very same report also promises a slew of new products, including two special Super Street Fighter IV fightsticks, probably similar to the one pictured above. I use my 2-player X-Arcade pad for the PC version of Street Fighter IV, but I sure would love to have something that actually interfaced easily with my 360. Foreshadowing: I’ll be doing further commentary about arcade pads later on.
Now, when this post goes live, Mr. Wirefly, MasterOfOrigami and myself will all be gone from our respective residences, visiting friends at the University of North Texas. We’ll be staying all weekend, but I’ve set up delayed posts (like this one) over the next several hours so that everyone still gets their Astringent Gaming fix while we’re away.
We’ll also be entering a local Street Fighter IV tournament while we’re there, so expect pictures on the gallery page and possibly a post about how we fared in the competition on Monday.
Have a good weekend everyone, and don’t forget to comment!

I need to shell out the money for a fight stick (I’m a Fighting Game-aholic..) however I’m not sure where to start. I’ve thought of going with a stick like these made from a company then customize it (buttons/stick/artwork).
A higher grade one could be made by the independent sellers over at shoryuken.com, however those will run a lot more expensive, and take longer.
