Ladies and gentlemen, may I bring to your attention one Keiji Inafune, often called “the Father of Mega Man”. This illustrious man will be announcing a new Capcom game on July 22nd.
I am, in a word, stoked.
From Comic-Con’s program for this year:
4:45-5:45 Capcom 2010 and Beyond!— See the latest trailers and get the inside scoop on all of Capcom’s most highly anticipated games for 2010 and beyond: Marvel Vs. Capcom 3, Sengoku Basara, Okamiden, Bionic Commando Rearmed 2, Ghost Trick, Dead Rising 2, and more. On top of all that, hear details on an exciting new game announcement by Capcom legend Keiji Inafune, the father of Mega Man! Room 6BCF
…so there you have it! While we may not have much else to go on, (not even what consoles the game will be for) we can take a look at Inafune’s history. He’s worked on 59 games to date, is slated to direct the Dead Rising movie, and created Zero for the Mega Man X franchise, whom we all know as one of the coolest characters ever designed, even if he was originally supposed to be Mega Man.
Proof:
So let’s get some speculation going? What kind of game is this going to be? Is it going to be any good? I’m not sure what to expect, myself. Tell me your thoughts in the comments!

Hopefully an original one.
To me, it feels like it could be a completely new property. Then again, I may be jumping the gun a bit.
