Transformers: War For Cybertron Still Looks Good (Potentially)
Avast! Gameplay!
I still can’t decide if this game is going to be good and pretty, or just pretty. I think pretty much everyone wants it to be at least decent.

So much SSF4 news! There had been some speculation in the past, but now it’s all but confirmed: Dudley, Ibuki, and Makoto are all in for Super Street Fighter IV. Very, very exciting news. Hit the jump for details.
Fellow 2D fighter fans, it seems like things just keep getting better for us! Mad Catz, makers of a handful of excellent pads for current consoles, has some excellent news.
Well now. What do you know? Bioshock 2 has the exact same problem with widescreen that Bioshock 1 did. Oops?
How’s that for an absurd acronym? I’ve been planning this one for a while, but couldn’t come up with a cool enough string of capital letters. I’ve settled on this one, though, so here it comes: Episode I of Sorry For Not Reviewing Everything I Play. This is where I do micro-reviews of all the games I’ve been sifting through in the last month but haven’t ever felt inspired enough to do full reviews of. Everything will basically boil down to this: Love, Hate, or Meh?
Since this is the first episode, I may reach back a little further than just one month. I feel like I’ve been cheating our readership pretty hard, especially during our December hiatus. My plan is to have a new episode up the second Monday of every month from here on out, but we’ll see what happens. I hope you all enjoy this! This time, I’ll be commenting on Borderlands, Assassin’s Creed II, Batman: Arkham Asylum, Deus Ex: Invisible War, Darksiders, and Mass Effect 2.
Yep! In case you haven’t heard, Fallout: New Vegas is supposed to hit store shelves this Fall. New California Republic, anyone?
I love the Fallout franchise kind of like the majestic tuna enjoys having water to live in. In other words, I absolutely love the Fallout games. I’m not one of those people who owns a 360 for Halo 3 and thought “Man, I’m bored. I guess this Fallout 3 game has killing in it. I’ll check it out.” and then went back to guffawing on my headset for the “benefit” of everyone else in my current round of Slayer.
So, comments? Anyone else salivating?
When was the last time you played an Aliens vs. Predator game? Even if you got nostalgic and re-installed the second one a while after its initial surge of popularity had subsided, it’s still probably been five years or more. That’s too long, isn’t it? Don’t you want to skitter across some ceilings and kill some unsuspecting Marines, showing them the error of their species in that last moment before their body realizes how much blood it’s missing?
Well, guess what? The demo for the third installment, simply called Aliens vs. Predator, is available for everyone. I’m downloading it on Steam right now. But hey, 360 and PS3 people–you can do the same thing! Well, minus the Steam bit. You know what I mean.
Don’t really know what the franchise is about? Check out the full article for gameplay of the three very different races, as well as a comparison by the developers of the first AVP versus this one.
More delicious trailers! This time, it’s the launch trailer for a game that I think everyone fears won’t be as good as the first one: Bioshock 2: Sea of Dreams. I decided this trailer should get its own post, because it’s similar to one of my all-time favorites, this gruesome piece teasing at the release of the first Bioshock. The release of Bioshock 2 is only six days away, but I’m sure you know that, because you (being a clever and astute gamer) frequently check our lovely release calendar page. The Astringent Gaming Journal: Getting More Convenient Every Day. Head into the full article if you want to see some additional musings about Bioshock 2 and the Bioshock IP in general.
Watch the trailer and you’ll understand. War For Cybertron releases 6/22/2010.
